Smoky Ham Hock Green Beans
Smoked ham hock simmered with fresh green beans and new potatoes until everything turns tender and smoky.

Ingredients
The Pot
- ✦1 – 2 Lakeshire smoked ham hocks
- ✦1 onion, diced
- ✦3 cloves garlic
- ✦6 cups water or stock
The Vegetables
- ✦1.5 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- ✦1 lb baby new potatoes
- ✦Salt & cracked pepper
Instructions

Simmer. Cover the ham hocks with water, add onion and garlic, and simmer gently about 1 hour to build a smoky broth.

Add Veg. Add the green beans and potatoes and simmer until tender, 25 to 30 minutes.

Shred. Lift out the hocks, pull the meat from the bone, and stir it back into the pot.

Season. Taste, then add salt and pepper. The smoked meat carries most of the salt, so wait until the end.

Serve. Spoon into bowls with plenty of the smoky pot likker.
